It‘s 2026 and apparently surviving an hour of podcasts on macOS Sequoia still requires brutal shell scripting.

Anyone a better idea how to make Apple’s Podcasts app not crash in a spinning wheel of death every time it’s open for more than an hour…?

I’ve tried numerous iOS podcast apps, looking for the one with the best search feature.

Eg, curious about the Vivaldi browser?

Castamatic, Overcast, Downcast all give results related to music.

The stock Apple Podcast app and PocketCast app gives me multiple podcast episodes where the browser is discussed (in addition to music).

The only reason I’ve stuck with the stock app is for this feature.

There's a really weird Apple Podcasts bug that apparently malicious actors are trying to take advantage of...That made me uninstall it, what's worse Apple hasn't publicly talked about it. They need to get their asses in gear and warn people to uninstall the app for the time being. As it's a potential route to attack users.

This December is when I switch over to Android, after paying off the remainder balance on this iPhone 15+. Ugh, it's wild that Apple hasn't fixed this long standing bug in their app. Especially one which can be used maliciously once figured out by a malicious actor. 😬

Heute mal wieder die #ApplePodcastApp verwendet und ziehe folgendes Resümee:

Die App ist unbenutzbar.

Der Player ist eine Katastrophe.
Die Kapitelmarken sind nur suboptimal erreichbar. Das größte Problem ist aber, dass falsch interpretierten Wischgesten (Ziel Player minimieren), zum ungewollten spulen führt.
