Apple blossom on an ancient apple tree. Eventually this will become Bramley apples that are possible some of the oldest around. The trees are in need of decent care which is technically beyond me but the fruit crop is astounding.

Spring has arrived in the garden! 🌸
The apple tree (Malus domestica) is in full blossom this week. Those deep pink buds gradually open into soft white flowers with a delicate blush — one of the most beautiful transitions spring has to offer. Apple blossom is a crucial moment in the garden: without pollinators visiting these flowers now, there will be no harvest come autumn. Bees, bumblebees, and hoverflies are the unsung heroes behind every apple on the tree.

De lente is aangekomen in de tuin! 🌸

Apple blossom is one of spring’s sweetest sights, but it’s also vital for fruit later! Top tip: Plant pollinator-friendly flowers nearby to attract bees and boost your apple harvest. More bees = more apples! #SpringGarden #AppleBlossom #GardeningTips
