I'm looking at buying a small upright freezer since the apartment-sized fridge I live with doesn't have much space (since a third of it is taken up with a non-functional ice maker).

I have a space for it in my kitchen, so I don't have to stack the washer and dryer in the laundry room (my dad's reaction to the suggestion to do so dissuaded me).

I have two options, both Frigidaire:

- 7.0 cu ft, manual defrost, $400.
- 13.0 cu ft, self defrost, $600.

Is the self defrost option worth $200?
