The best time to visit Winchester Cathedral is in the winter months, when the Norman crypt floods.

The statue is 'Sound II' (1986), a humanoid sculpture of Antony Gormley, as is his best-known work, 'The Angel of the North' in Tyneside. Modern art can fit in with a cathedral and the cathedral becomes part of its art.
