We live in a society of many different faiths and I consider myself respectful of beliefs wildly divergent from my own, but this behaviour felt far beyond the pale.

His behaviour warranted far less respect than I gave, even though it felt uncomfortable to me to speak in a way that *felt* disrespectful in and of itself. 😢

My elder was disgusted with his behaviour.

Besides not wanting to be preached at when shopping, they were deeply offended that a complete stranger would be making assumptions about their religious beliefs.

I concur: there was no religious imagery on my elder, but then there was none on the antimasker either.

To assume anyone involved was of ANY particular belief was obviously foolish.

Nope.

He aims for my elder, #frail and classically now an LOP (Little Old Person) wearing a disposable #N95.

He stopped, looked at us, passed me over, and then zeroed in on my elder to spew completely unprompted and unsolicited advice that the only thing that will help was to "accept Jesus into your heart and be saved and He'll save you from this."

He didn't specify what "this" was to "help" but the context clearly implied his beliefs about my elder's need to be masking.

@dalias @Alice Yeah, it's the equivalent of waving a loaded gun in the face of a former PoW with severe PTSD:

• Begging for a nonverbal act of self- and/or mutual defense!
