AI (read: generative tech) ‘art’ is like if you went into an art gallery or a museum, stole all the artwork, cut up all of the paintings and then claimed the frankensteined new ‘painting’ as your own… How exactly is this not theft again?

I've defended the techniques that underly LLMs.
I've stated how much I love and am fascinated by the math underlying them.
I've built / trained a small diffusion model (not a fine tuned large model, from scratch on a few doodles of my own). It's still on my desktop.

I've posted about all of this on the AI hating bsky to the meanest AI haters out there.

I've never once had to or felt I had to defend myself with the phrase "I don't like AI but--"

LLM’s are trained on stolen art, every single one. Generative Tech (AI) is trained on stolen artwork, writing, voice, etc… Every single one of them. For that reason alone, you cannot engage with it ethically.

We need laws that acknowledge this as theft and sue the hell out of every single company that owns an LLM or a Generative Tech machine for large scale thievery and damages to the livelihoods of real humans artists. This is what should happen.
