Truth is uncomfortable for #Farage’s supporters but obvious to everyone else. A man who dines & drinks in London’s private members’ clubs mixes freely with billionaires, & has spent decades orbiting corridors of power is not an #anti-establishment outsider www.thelondoneconomic.com/opinion/its-...

The reason I believe that many Gen Z men like Trump and Mamdani is because they are both anti-establishment politicians.

Trump has been against the Republican establishment while Mamdani is against the Democrat establishment.

Gen Z loves both Trump and Mamdani for the same reason

Gen Z voters propelled both Donald Trump and New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani to victory despite their opposing policies, united by promises to disrupt the system.

I’m fed up with all these so-called “gurus” who co-opt and redefine movements just to get attention online. This is an insult born of ignorance.

Saying “AI is punk” is simplistic and overlooks what made punk truly subversive. Punk wasn’t just individual independence; it was collective resistance against power structures, corporations, and the commercialization of culture. It was a statement: “We don’t need anyone telling us how to live, think, or create.”

Most widely used AI tools, however, are owned by massive corporations (OpenAI, Google, Microsoft) that control access, models, and collect data for commercial purposes. Using them means relying on centralized systems, which are fundamentally at odds with the punk ethos. Punk isn’t just about breaking rules—it’s about rejecting hierarchies, gatekeepers, and top-down control. Corporate AI puts users inside precisely the kind of managed, monitored system that punk was designed to resist.

That said, truly punk AI would be free, open-source, and fully transparent. It lets you experiment without permission, modify tools as you see fit, and create outside corporate control. Its DIY ethos, community collaboration, and radical autonomy align much more closely with punk’s core: subverting rules, forging your own path, and challenging gatekeepers.

"Following the release of the graphic novel and its 2005 film adaptation, this design came to represent broad protest, later also becoming a symbol for the online #hacktivist group '#Anonymous' after appearing in web forums, used in Project Chanology, the #Occupy movement, Anonymous for the Voiceless, and other #AntiEstablishment protests around the world. This has led to the mask also being known by the alternate name of the Anonymous mask.

"The British comic book series #VForVendetta, which started in 1982, centers on a #vigilante's efforts to destroy an #authoritarian government in a #dystopian future United Kingdom. When developing the story, illustrator David Lloyd made a handwritten note on the intended #anarchist protagonist, V: 'Why don't we portray him as a resurrected Guy Fawkes, complete with one of those papier-mâché masks, in a cape and a conical hat? He'd look really bizarre and it would give #GuyFawkes the image he's deserved all these years. We shouldn't burn the chap every Nov. 5th but celebrate his attempt to blow up Parliament!' Writer Alan Moore commented that, due to Lloyd's idea, 'All of the various fragments in my head suddenly fell into place, united behind the single image of a Guy Fawkes mask.'

"Moore also noted, 'how interesting it was that we should have taken up the image right at the point where it was apparently being purged from the annals of English iconography.' "
