Il est difficile de s’épanouir lorsque l’on est seul. Tous les êtres vivants de la Terre évoluent grâce aux interconnexions qu’ils savent créer.

Someone posted about the 50th anniversary of Donald Johanson’s discovery of Lucy, and I went on an hour long excursion into the memory vault.

I was a first year geology major at podunk college and my then girlfriend and soon to find out at the time, a creationist-leaning Bible thumper, was heading the group that brought lecturers and musicians, etc. to the campus.

So I found myself having a pre-lecture meal with the world’s preeminent anthropologist…
I can’t imagine (nor remember) anything said at the dinner…but was glad for the opportunity.

Wish I could have that opportunity to do over now, actually knowing some things about the topic…though honestly, Inprobably knew as much about early hominids then as I do know.

I found all this stuff tucked in my signed copy of his book this morning and I am feeling a bit of time warp on so many levels.
