My old #Dell Inspiron 15R from 2012 serves my mum as a simple mail- document- and news-reader since years.

After recommendations from Microsoft to upgrade and get rid of the now outdated Windows 10, I accepted
... and installed #AnduinOS

It's amazing that this #ubuntu based distro still runs on a 13 year old laptop out of the box and offers free support for further years.

The UI is simple and therefore parents-safe 😁
Even Microsoft stuff like OneDrive-Sync is included.

Ich werde mir wahrscheinlich wenn ich meinen neuen Laptop habe erstmal in einer Virtual Box Linux Mint, Ubuntu, anduin oder Zorin ausprobieren. Weiß jemand was besser ist für mich als Tech Noob.

Das kann man auch machen. Darüber hinaus vermittelt #AnduinOS das Gefühl ein #Windows 11 zu bedienen.

Ich finde es auch besser statt eines #Ubuntu, "Trixie" unter der Haube zu haben.

AnduinOS wird übrigens von einem ehemaligen #Microsoft Programmierer entwickelt. Ob das eine späte Rache ist?
