Enjoyed this gothic horror novel, mostly set in the north Lancashire coast between the Wyre and Lune estuaries in the 70s. I am reminded of how I decided age 10 at the same time became an atheist that Christianity was quite weird! Hurley has created a different version of that mostly flat landscape, incorporating some aspects of the land further North in the Silverdale area—mysterious and enthralling.
