The US TikTok sale has been signed. The company will be controlled by a joint venture including Oracle, Silver Lake, Andreessen Horowitz, Abu Dhabi-based MGX. I missed this in December, but I think it's worth a reading now more than ever. Our favourite deranged techbro - Marc Andreessen - decided that politics is serious stuff. So he explains:

"we will, for the first time, get involved with politics by supporting candidates who align with our vision and values specifically for technology". ["we" means a16z at the very least, but probably a bunch of techbro-crypto-AI friends with money].

His post underlines what's important for Marc, like:
- preserving American global technology leadership
- AI "must not be choked off in its infancy"
- Reach the "fairer, more inclusive economy" fostered by "decentralized technologies from the blockchain/crypto/web3 ecosystem"

So, Marc says, "every penny we donate will go to support like-minded candidates and oppose candidates who aim to kill America’s advanced technological future".

The post was relaunched in his newsletter this morning, so I guess he now thinks his stance should be underlined in the wake of Trump's supposedly triumphant run.

@greyarea @silverpill TBH, I wish all the #Shitcoins (espechally #Bitcoin  and other #ASIC-mined shit) will die a slow and painful death and that those that have billions sunk into it like #AndreesenHorrowitz will loose everything and have to file for bankrupcy.

Longterm I hope #Monero  will become the new #PayPal  but in a good way:
As a convenient and fast payment system.
