Anyone know of an #audio #spectrum #analyser app, ideally on iPhone, that lets parts of a waterfall plot be isolated and played?
Would also be nice to have a waterfall plot interface that understands the Fourier uncertainty limit and supports zooming within its constraint (trading time localisation for frequency localisation as needed), and can reasonably resolve low frequencies as well as high (allowing for the fact they won’t have good temporal resolution).

If anybody interested, there is recently released Loris Synth - a DSP based #spectral #waveform #analyser for eaganmatrix instruments. I'll probably try it out if I have some free time later this year. It's not fully standalone in a sense that the analysis is done inside the computer but after initial converting, all the sounds will be available in the standalone instrument.
