I am not buying oscilloscopes anymore but my only portable (luggable) scope recently died, so I got something a lot smaller but still vintage: this cute Sony/Tektronix 335, from 1976 I believe.

"Rat's nest" or "Manhattan Style" prototyping (or however one would like to call this particular hybrid variant) is fun to do and has some sculptural charm. Tomorrow we'll see if this actually does what it should do.

Learned about slew rates and other limitations of signal amplifiers, but got to 70V p-p maximum output swing with a -3 dB point around 1.5 MHz.

Preparing new crystal experiments and the most suitable transistors I have turn out to be these new-old-stock in their similarly new-old-bag. These were designed for driving core memory arrays.

Today, in the age of AI, I made this very modest adjustable power supply because I needed it and because it is nice to build one.

Evaporating pcb traces turned out to be a symptom of a failing rectifier and the latest update is that this may not be the end of it either.

FesZ Electronics

A project about projects. FesZ Electronics is a channel about various electronic projects I spend my free time doing. It will go from educational stuff like tutorials, to teardown reviews to just putting ideas into practice. The point is to do something with educational value, not just fun. Have a look, leave a comment and come back again if you like what you've found! If you wish to support my activities you can have a look at my patreon page: https://www.patreon.com/feszelectronics

I was staying with my grandparents and he had an old oscilloscope so i plugged some circuit together and it drew some nice lines. #analog #analogelectronics
To continue to describe myself, I like very much #electronics (and part of my daily work deals with it). I like #analogelectronics in particular and a few years ago I put together from scratch a #tube RIAA preamplifier. I do not think tubes are superior to transistors, I simply liked to work with a constraint. I still use it almost daily!
