Benjamin Steer

Melkweg, Friday, October 30 at 07:30 PM GMT+1

Benjamin Steer is a 23-year-old English-American-Belgian singer-songwriter who is quickly making a name for himself with his emotional and relatable music. His breakthrough single ‘Be My Love’ perfectly describes him as an artist: a grand and intense song about longing, love, and the search for something that truly holds meaning. He only started playing guitar a few years ago while studying economics in St Andrews, but broke through rapidly and has since amassed around 1.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Songs like ‘No One Wants To Die Alone’, ‘Miracle’, and ‘Sinner’ showcase a remarkably mature sound and address themes such as identity, mental pressure, and the insecurities of Generation Z. For Steer, music is more than entertainment; it is a way to understand life and touch others, sometimes in a life-changing way. With his honest lyrics, strong hooks, and great ambition, he is steadily building a career centered on connection and meaning.

Tony Roe & Doriene Marselje

Splendor, Saturday, July 25 at 08:30 PM GMT+2

Live Album Recording

When harp and piano meet at the intersection of composition, improvisation and electronics, a sound world emerges in which structure and freedom are in constant dialogue.
Harpist Doriene Marselje and pianist/composer Tony Roe have been collaborating as a duo since 2025. Driven by a shared fascination with sound, resonance and technology, they create music in which acoustic instruments and live electronics merge into an organic whole.

Their collaboration grew out of Interference, the composition cycle Roe wrote for Marselje and which forms the centrepiece of her acclaimed solo album of the same name. Beginning with the acoustic qualities of the instruments themselves - string, attack and resonance - the duo gradually expands their sound through electronics and analogue effects. From this composed material unfolds a musical dialogue in which improvisation, electronics and subtle shifts in timbre play an essential role.

Roe, winner of the Boy Edgar Prize 2024, is known for his innovative approach to music and technology. Marselje moves between classical, contemporary and experimental music practices, developing projects in which acoustic instruments, electronics and other disciplines converge.

Together they create a layered and ever-evolving sound world in which composition and spontaneity continuously inform and reinforce one another.

Bokoesam

Paradiso, Sunday, November 15 at 08:30 PM GMT+1

Dutch rapper with a dancehall sound

Since the release of his debut EP ‘Nog Nooit Meegemaakt’ (2014), Bokoesam has become a fixture on the Dutch hip-hop scene. Classics such as ‘No Go Zone’, ‘50 Cent’, ‘Mijn Schuld’, ‘Net Iets Meer’ and ‘Go Go Club’ have stood the test of time and are still frequently played in clubs and at festivals. As part of the groundbreaking collective New Wave, he won, amongst other accolades, the Popprijs and two Edison Awards, and in 2026 he was back in the spotlight for five sold-out reunion shows at the Ziggo Dome.

In recent years, Bokoesam has showcased different sides of himself. Following the festive energy of the EP ‘Party Sam’ (2023) came the album ‘Nachtvlinder’ (2024), which was certified gold and laid the foundations for his Dutch-spoken dancehall style, as heard on ‘Go Go Club Vol. 1’ and ‘Doe Het Nou Gewoon’. He rounded off 2024 with ‘Nachtvlinder 2’; a personal album on which he candidly shares what the past few years have been like for him.

Bokoesam has also reinvented himself on stage. Since 2022, he has been performing with a regular live band, taking his dancehall, hip-hop and Afro influences to the next level. This autumn, he returns to Paradiso with a revamped live show in which his musical journey comes together in its entirety. Expect timeless favourites and new material that have made Bokoesam one of the Netherlands’ most beloved live acts for years.
