How did the last two months go in terms of my word count or publishing goals?
Not so good. But I have a new laptop all set up (okay, nearly all set up) with thrice as much space as before (3 TB! yay!).
Bonus tech support: my friend Darrell also has a new computer all set up and didn't lose any time on ebay.
I'm listening to Yellowface by R.F. Kuang (I've read it before) and it's really motivating, oddly).
E.S. RayeHad a short day today, but, despite the mess of sticky notes this is becoming, I think I've set myself up well to finish tomorrow.
I'm looking forward to an exciting Act III!

I just figured out how a World War I era artillery cannon could take down an interstellar flying saucer, all within the rules I've already set out and even unintentionally foreshadowed.

I suddenly have a need for a hand-held object to miraculously appear late in the second act of Shallow Trenches, Open Skies.
The solution?
Add a note to act one to make one of the main characters decent at slight-of-hand.
Remember kids, it's not a plot hole if you foreshadow first!
Didn't get quite as far today as I had hoped, but it turned out there were a few more details I needed to work out first. Tomorrow will be a short day thanks to an afternoon commitment, but I'm still hoping to get close to the 3rd plot point.
With luck, I can finish this up with a strong push on Friday, the start writing either over the weekend, or next Wednesday!

I lost last week's outlining time to both human and canine illness. But now everyone is feeling better, all my freelance work is done for the week, I've got some great reviews of Gas Giant Gambit to bolster my confidence, and three days of uninterrupted outlining time.
