A Moment in Time. I have a lot of stored up illustrations, but sometimes I think excerpts from the history I wrote for my family are more interesting. So here's one of those, from 1952. It's about the first home my parents bought in the early 1950's. It was a house in Levittown, New York. I read that these were the model for the Petrie home in the old Dick Van Dyke show. The text is from my mother's journal. My comments are italicized

I've taken a bit of a break as I went through minor eye procedures. I'm almost done so I should be returning to posting. I see a new follower despite my lackadaisical posting schedule. [@stannard - I'm in the southern US but my grandmother was from South Shields. Have been there and hope to get back some day]. So, this is Eldon Street in South Shields in the 19th Century. Eldon Street would have been the site of one of my "ancestral" family homes.
