APC&TCP: Boxed and Digital Versions of ARC4NERD Released

APC&TCP

ARC4NERD – an arcade classic with «Ruhrpott»-charm from HooGames2017 – has been released by APC&TCP, following in the footsteps of Dr. Dangerous and Phantom Leap, as a boxed edition and digital download.

Please do not confuse this with the special edition of ARC4NERD. This Special-Edition was limited and only available at the Amiga Ruhrpott Convention, and is now sold out.

To coincide with the Amiga Ruhrpott Convention 4, HooGames2017 is releasing the game: a classic arcade game in the Arkanoid style with a healthy dose of Ruhr area charm and humor.

In an industrial setting typical of the Ruhr area, the player’s task, using either a mouse or joystick, is to shoot down all the tiles installed in the level with the help of the boing ball and a movable reflector. Obstacles and drone-copters complicate matters, but luckily, randomly falling 3.5″ floppy disks are available. These can be collected and grant the player special abilities – such as a gun or a triple-boing ball. Bumpers installed in the levels, similar to a pinball machine, provide additional high scores. Each of the 55+ levels is dedicated to a supporter of the Amiga Ruhrpott Convention, promising hours of fun. And at the end, you even have to face the final boss – something you shouldn’t miss at any ARC! 😉
The physical edition of ARC4NERD comes in a high-quality collector’s box with great extras. In addition to the game on floppy disk, it includes a rulebook, a sticker sheet with in-game artwork, and a pixel-art poster and postcard of the ARC venue.

Minimum system requirements:

• Commodore Amiga 500 or higher
• Kickstart 1.3 or higher
• 1 MB RAM
• 3.5″ Floppy Drive

About HooGames2017 and Tino Menzner

Gerd Surey (HooGames2017) and Tino Menzer (Amiga Ruhrpott Convention) are typical Ruhr area natives – both «born on coal.» Chance brought them together: Tino actually wanted to write an article about the game Dr. Dangerous, which Gerd had just released for the Amiga, and contacted him about it.

They hit it off immediately and exchanged ideas extensively. What started as an interview project initially led to a collaboration on Phantom Leap. Since creative collaboration often bears fruit, the idea eventually arose to develop their own game for the Amiga Ruhrpott Convention – the birth of ARC4NERD.

APC&TCP & Amiga Future: Birthday Holiday

APC&TCP

We are on holiday from 6th May to 23th May inclusive.

Of course, we cannot process any orders during this time. This also applies in part to downloads.

As soon as we are back, we will of course do our best to ship all orders as soon as possible. But it will certainly take a few days until we have processed the waiting list.

Also because we have the ARC4NERD release in the middle of our vacation while we’re away.

Also the Amiga Future webpage, news, Facebook & Co will not be updated during this time.

Of course, we cannot be reached by phone, email, messenger etc. during this time either. In urgent cases we can only be reached via Whatsapp.

And today – May 1st, 2026 – APC&TCP turns 34 years old. 🙂
