What Else

On Labour Day, Bhavna and I took a late afternoon walk around Hobler Park. It was between 4:30 and 5:30 PM, and the sky was a soft, muted grey, with the kind of overcast sky that made everything feel quieter. The air was cool, hinting at the approach of autumn, but still held onto the last threads of summer’s warmth.

As we wandered the trails, I noticed the tall American Elm trees swaying gently in the breeze. Golden patches of Common Wrinkle-leaved Goldenrod dotted the path, their yellow blooms glowing against the greenery. We passed a few Field Thistles, their spiky purple flowers standing proudly. Hobler Park felt peaceful, tucked between farms, with its rolling hills and scattered trees. It’s always a nice escape, and on that day, it was just the quiet reset we needed to start the week ahead.

The park felt peaceful in the late afternoon, the perfect way to unwind. I love these moments with Bhavna—simple walks where we talk about everything and nothing, surrounded by nature’s beauty. Hobler Park is especially lovely in this golden hour.

Exploring Hobler Park, I shifted focus from birds to wildflowers, finding both native and invasive species in this peaceful setting.
