This morning's #workout #music is from Jean Michel Jarre doing a live performance of his landmark album Oxygene. Back in the late #70s and early #80s my friends and I were very into the #ElectronicMusic scene. I was a particular fan of #TangerineDream and #KlausSchulze and #Kraftwerk. Some of my friends tried to get me into Jarre and #Tomita but they never clicked for me. After reading an article recently on this album and its influence on #ambientTechno I thought I would give it another go. Meh. Still sits there flat and doesn't do anything for me for the most part. Some moments (particularly around 45 minutes in), but on the whole it just isn't my thing. YMMV

@ftmf This always sneaks up on me!

While I don't have any new music to offer (but things™ are in the works!), the big news from my little corner is that my two EPs are now available on mirlo!

Facets is a sort of #idm, maybe #ambientTechno album that more than a few people have compared to Orbital.

Descends is a bit more #lofi and #downTempo. One listener described it as a party in a zen garden, and I think that's about as apt a description as you could hope for:

Amber is the second studio album by the British electronic music duo Autechre, released on 7 November 1994 by Warp. It was the first Autechre album to be composed entirely of new material, as their debut album Incunabula was a compilation of older tracks.

..Ned Raggett of AllMusic gave the album a four-and-a-half star rating out of five, and compared the album to Incunabula, opining that "a couple of tracks could be removed with no problem, while tracks like "Montreal" and "Slip" continue the basic Incunabula formula without noticeable change." Raggett concluded that "things are clearly starting to gel a little more here than on previous releases; the great leap forward becomes all the more logical in retrospect." - Wikipedia

Higher Intelligence Agency (HIA) is the main electronic music project of Birmingham, UK-based Robert (Bobby) Bird. The project was featured on Warp's Artificial Intelligence II compilation and went on to release the critically acclaimed albums Colourform (1993) and Freefloater (1995).

something a bit different to what I normally recommend in that it's a mix rather than a release but another subgenre I have a passion for and clicked the link so fast when it came up on my home page

i'm sure you can figure out for yourself from the title what it is
