Ironic, then, that it was a series of unfortunate... incidences involving him that ultimately led to the label's demise (not that there weren't other factors leading up to it).

brawnze is the new duo project of Xavier Bonfill & Mikael Tobias, two Copenhagen-based composers & sound artists who have been making waves in the adventurous music scene with a myriad of other projects.

The two first met at an avant-garde music festival where Bonfill was premiering his composition for deconstructed grand piano, solenoids and LED panels, and Tobias was on the front-of-house team, running sound for the concert. Their synergy led to further collaborations of this ilk, until the pair decided to try and merge their creative energies in the studio.

After several promising sessions, the duo found themselves in middle-of-nowhere Italy in December 2024, with a week of uninterrupted studio time. Having nothing to prove, no deadline, and no stylistic dogmas to follow, the creative process was pure and marked by intuition, experimentation, and emotional connection. This is where the bulk of the "bronze" EP would materialize, with additional production and mixing, unfolding at their own pace, over the following year.

This debut release showcases the duo's shapeshifting and intrepid sound design, with 4 tracks that take the listener on an expansive journey through indie electronica, leftfield techno, organic ambient and industrial noise.
