I'm still sad that I apparently damaged my old Asus Pro WS X570-ACE motherboard when removing the CPU (due to failed cooler). There aren't any good AM4 motherboards now. The gamer ones don't support ECC UDIMMs, and the cheap ones that do support ECC have poor PCIe configurations. I need 3 x8 PCIe slots.
I ended up with a Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite. It supports ECC, and has 3 x16 slots, but the actual lanes to the x17 slots are x16, x4, and x1.

Ist im Grunde vermutlich ehh egal, aber irgendwie bin ich immer mal wieder über die aktuell geisteskranken Preise von PC Komponenten schockiert.

Ich hatte mein älteres AM4 System ja im vergangen Jahr noch ein letztes Mal mit ein paar neueren Komponenten aufgerüstet. Mein CPU-Upgrade von der 5600X zur 5700X3D hatte mich damals noch ca. 200EUR gekostet. Das Ding geht in eBay aber wohl inzwischen - auch gebraucht - für fast das Doppelte weg! Das ist doch Wahnsinn! WTF!?

Еще какой-нибудь год назад собирать новый ПК с нуля на AM4 было очень странным решением. Все-таки платформе уже десять лет, AMD давно выпустила AM5, а DDR5 стала стандартом для любой свежей сборки. Казалось бы, тема закрыта. Но тут кое-что случилось. Память подорожала так, что 32-гигабайтный комплект стал стоить дороже приличной видеокарты, а производители материнок вместо того, чтобы окончательно похоронить старый сокет, снова начали выпускать под него новые платы . В 2026-м. На полном серьезе. И тут, естественно, возникает вопрос: а может, в этом и правда есть смысл? Не как вынужденный компромисс, а как осознанный выбор? Об этом сегодня и поговорим.
