Day 21 of #almost70degreesnorth

Visit of the #NationalMuseum of #Norway in #Oslo - Originally I had planned to visit three museums on this day, but National Museum totally blew me away and I spent the whole day there. If you only visit the #Munch room there, you are going to miss a lot first class content.
On the evening I went for a run along the #Oslofjord and had a rare warm dinner.

Day 20 of #almost70degreesnorth

#Train ride from #Røros to #Oslo via #Hamar - a very scenic route along #Glomma, many probably never take. Train also not as crowded as the more touristic main routes further West.

In Oslo a quite hard run up the #Akerselva after check-in. The river itself is quite underwhelming, but much to discover nearby if you open your eyes.
Hotelchoice in #Grønland was made due to be near the station and it was a decent one. Only problem was a bar nearby with madly loud music at night.

Day 19 of #almost70degreesnorth

Felt better this day, but weather was not that good. So I decided to settle for a compromise and do a short hike only. I started at #Røros and went via Vardhøgda to Fjellkirka/Enarsvola on my last full day in town. A quite lonely hike with some nice views.

As credit card was working again, I treated myself to some sweet delights at a local bakery.

Day 18 of #almost70degreesnorth

Just an easy walk Southeast of #Røros due to feeling weak because of a cold. Still some nice views and riverscene vibes.
When coming back from the walk there was quite a scare as creditcards didn't work and banks wouldn't exchange EUR for NOK. After some hours I thankfully got lucky at an ATM and could buy something. So far I hadn't used catch at all since leaving Hamburg. Quite affordable housing in the area btw.

Evening in bed watching Norwegian Cup football.

Day 17 of #almost70degreesnorth

Due to very bad weather forecast I skipped the planned trip to #Bergen (a city I know very well from before) and after a tip on #Mastodon I opted for a stay at #Røros a place I visited only once on business in winter before.

The #train ride from #Trondheim was smooth and offered great views of the #Glomma valley. I also have to say my stay in Trondheim was a very positive one, and should I relocate the city is a front runner.

In Røros I got a very good deal at Vertshuset and it was probably the most comfy room I stayed at during the trip. Even if I felt a bit under the weather, I went for a first exploration #run and got eventually a bit lost.

Day 16 of #almost70degreesnorth

#Festningen #parkrun in #Trondheim in heavy rain
and
#football match #Rosenborg versus #Viking at #Lerkendal in bright sunshine.
Loved the peaceful and relaxed atmosphere...

An easy day exploring and #running through #Trondheim - nice and calm atmosphere.

Day 14 of #almost70degreesnorth

Blue skies meant another #hiking tour - I took advantage of the excellent public transport in #Trondheim and took the bus to a small village in the South. From there a little adventure began. Many paths were still soaked and sometimes I had to walk through swampland. Was really happy to have a GPS track, even if I was at times unsure if there's really a path. Many of the paths are cross country tracks in winter. Anyway I made it to #Storheia mountain and could enjoy wonderful panoramic views. In contract to locals I looked like a mudmonster. Really wondered how they ran up there not getting soaked.
The way back to Hammersborg was quite easy. You can also take a bus back after 15 km's.

Day 13 of #almost70degreesnorth

After a week in #Tromsø I took a flight (my first since 2019) to #Trondheim - this was a bit forced due to miseries of Nordlandsbanen. In the end I was ok with it as it saved me two full days.

During my business trip Trondheim felt always a bit sleepy and boring, but this impression changed towards the better during my stay. After landing I took the train to Lade and after some siesta I went for a run to explore a bit and find out where the #parkrun would take place.
Day 12 of #almost70degreesnorth

Time to say goodbye to #Tromsø already.
I had mixed feelings. Nature around and on the island is still absolutely breathtaking, while downtown developed into one big tourist trap. Many of the old places don't exist anymore. Also it was hard to interact with locals, as they are fed up with tourists due to overtourism.
I still checked prices for flats - one never knows... Probably I'd choose another Norwegian city to move to though.
One if probably not supposed to do such a #hike 1,5 days after a halfmarathon, but I felt strong and I had to take advantage of that weather. So I took the bus to the final stop of the local bus on mainland and planned to climb Fløya from the South. Due to big amount of snow already rather low in the valley I had to abandon that plan as it was way too risky. So I went back the same path and planned to sit in the bus somewhere near the bridge. But somehow I was curious about those Sherpastairs and went up to Storsteinen. Up was rather hard, but downhill every step was pain. I didn't regret any of them though.
