The Giants beat the Dodgers by a run yesterday, then lost to the Dodgers by a run today. The rubber match (or rubber game, as I've heard it referred to in elegant circles) is a 1:05 PT start tomorrow, with LA's Yamamoto (2.77 ERA), and SF's Ray (2.63 ERA) the scheduled starters.
After that, it's time for goofing off at the All-Star Break, an ancient baseball ritual which always features a weird game, and also a very important home run hitting contest.
If you think things are bad now, just wait until the Giants (45-40) have to play the #Phillies (50-35) & #Dodgers (53-32) back-to-back at home next week before the #AllStarBreak.π€¦
Unless thing change for them dramatically, I predict that the Giants' win/loss record will fall to below 500 by then which then unfortunately be a typical mid-season result for the Giants.
It's just so painful & disappointing because their hot start to the season gave us Giants fans such hope but we all should have known better.
BTW, it didn't help that Devers struck out swinging at high fast balls 4 times last night & now only has a .200 BA. π€¦
