Met a mental health nurse who doesn’t understand what active listening or critical thinking mean.
Very kind and caring, but had somehow never heard of ADHD?
Repeated about 10 times to get in touch with XYZ and took me explaining why my EMDR sessions ended with them — because of the pandemic — not as proof I already knew about the org, but I can’t use (that) as a reason to not live my life, to paraphrase.
(Except online therapy is also bad? For some reason??)
It took most of the drive home to realise the numerous micro aggressions were why I suddenly felt very frustrated after a good go around the gym machines.
.
And it’s my need for socialisation that I hate because these are the prevalent attitudes in this area (and country. And language. And world.).
None of these people would take it very well if I said “every time you suggest something I already know doesn’t work because I tried it, or is inaccessible to me, or criticise the way I have to do something to minimise pain, you are actively contributing to my mental illnesses.
The worst part is we both know you will never admit it.”

btw, 'mental illnesses' is the polite, toned-down description of what they're adding to.
