Low Warden One-Place StudyπŸ”— in #Northumberland is the #OnePlaceStudy of Liz Philipson, who grew up there. It was one of many studies registered with us as a result of the first #AllAboutThatPlace in 2023 so I wasn't able to create a graphic for it at the time – but I have now! #OnePlaceWednesday
Wondering where the name #Thatcham comes from? Check out my @nickbits blog at https://nickbits.co.uk/blog/2022/05/a-history-of-the-name-thatcham/ or watch the video I did for #AllAboutThatPlace in 2023 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1U9jYQTqwjE
A history of the name Thatcham, Thatcham History

Thatcham history continues with the Saxons when Thatcham was known as ΓΎΓ¦cham. But how did it evolve to Thatcham? And when did the modern spelling first appear?

Much excitement here at A Few Forgotten Women HQ - all seven of the members of our team who applied to present at #AllAboutThatPlace have been accepted #Genealogy #FamilyHistory #LocalHistory
Last year I took part in #allaboutthatplace with "Thatcham: Whats in a name?" - see https://youtube.com/watch?v=1U9jYQTqwjE. Looking at doing it again this year, short 10 min piece. Looking at possibly Roman Thatcham, Saxon Thatcham
or Dunston House (our last manor house). Thoughts? Suggestions?

Resuming wider social media activities this #OnePlaceWednesday, after recovering from #AllAboutThatPlace and a very productive visit to the place that became my first #OnePlaceStudy, Waters Upton! How are things going with you and your #OnePlaceStudies?
Home/family life has been chaotic recently, lots going on. But finally, I have an entire day to myself (bliss!) and am going to get stuck into #AllAboutThatPlace talks. Using the fabulous spreadsheet from the Facebook group, priority is the talks that are disappearing today.
Thank you so much to everyone for the talks & organisation, and a huge thank you to those speakers who are allowing their talks to remain available for a while longer.

I’m done! At least, done with watching all the video content of #AllAboutThatPlace, not done with the consequences. Hi-ho, hi-ho, it’s off to the Trello #OnePlaceStudies to-do list I go.
