@nora two or three years ago I saw an ear nose and throat specialist to try to address the sore throat I’ve had since 2012 when my #MECFS came back.

I finally decided to address it because I was tired of thinking I had Covid every day, and once we stopped getting free home tests I wasn’t going to be screening myself on my own dime before going to medical appointments anymore (I wear a respirator anyway, but still. I stay home when I am sick because I am not selfish.)

Anyway, this man was so rude. When he walked into the room he claimed he knew the answer to my problem before he even examined me or talked to me. Sure he had access to my medical records, but this arrogant fool determined he could solve my issue before he even met me.

Cool, bring it on. HELP ME.

It was nothing but a bottled #alkalinewater ad. This man decided that my throat was sore because I was having acid reflux, even though there were years where I took PPI meds and I still had a sore throat. But I let him do his presentation. He even brought in three different bottles of alkaline water to put in front of me so I would know what to buy in the store.

When he was done I asked him if the bottled alkaline water would be any different than alkaline water filters because I purchased one of those years ago and I used them for two years and I saw no difference.

He told me he can’t vouch for the authenticity of those but he can vouch for these three brands of water he put in front of me.

When I left and they tried to schedule me for a follow up I told them I would come back but not to see him, they have to give me someone else. They told me they couldn’t give me someone else unless the office manager approved it, so I said OK and I left. I never heard from the office manager but about a year later I did receive a letter saying that man doesn’t work there anymore.

When I got home I looked at his reviews and apparently he’s been saying this to patients/women for a couple years and everyone is mad about it. I should have looked before I even went.

Anyway, when I finally saw an allergist I learned that I have a ragweed and tree pollen allergy. He recommended Azalastine & my sore throat vanished.

I’m still mad about it if you can’t tell lol
