pmorinerieJe viens de finir "Le$$ivée", le dernier roman graphique d’Alison Bechdel. J’ai beaucoup aimé.
Cette fois on est moins dans le récit que dans l’auto-fiction, avec beaucoup de fiction. Ça déroule une ou deux années de la vie d’« Alison », des ami·es, collègues, amours, enfants, chèvres, chevreaux.
Un effet « small world », où on suit la vie d’une dizaine de personnages tous interconnectés ; c’est complètement ma came.

Alison Bechdel on tunnettu kahdentyyppisistä sarjakuvista: lesboyhteisön arkea 1980-2000-luvuilla kuvannut strippisarjiksesta Lepakkoelämää (Dykes to Watch Out For) ja autofiktiivisistä, lapsen ja vanhemman välistä suhdetta psykologisesti tarkastelevista teoksista Hautuukoti ja Äideistä parhain. Tämä uusin teos, Spent, tapahtuu näiden kahden... Ömmm... Tyylilajin (?) risteyksessä.
Vaikkei Bechdelin muu tuotanto olisikaan tuttua, Spentin teemat ja niiden käsittely ovat sen verran mielenkiintoisia, ettei tähän harmita tarttua: taiteilijuus, raha, toimeentulo, valittu perhe, polyamoriset kokeilut varttuneella iälllä, ystävyys sekä tietysti uuden queer-sukupolven kasvun ihmettely.
Lepakkoelämää-sarjakuva on minulle rakas ja erityisen rakas hahmona oli taiteilija Bechdelin oma alterego Mo. Spentissä Mo ja Bechdel ovat sulautuneet jälleen yhdeksi, mikä jättää lukijan kummaan tilaan. Saako tällaista fiktiivisen hahmon kuolemaa todella surra ja jos saa, miten?
