started two new #AudioDrama series today... I think I'm years late to the party but I'm still as hooked as everybody else was back then 😛

"Why did the chicken cross the road? Because the dead return. Because light reverses. Because the sky is a gap. Because it’s a shout. Because light reverses. Because the dead return. Because footsteps on the ceiling. Because footsteps in the basement. Because the sky is a shout. Because it’s a gap. Because the grass doesn’t grow, or grows too much, or grows wrong. Because the dead return. Because the dead return. That – that – is why the chicken crosses the road."
I finished rewatching the fifth and final season of #Fringe yesterday
One thing I noticed this time around is that seasons 1-4 are generally quite low in intensity except for spikes in their finales, whereas season 5 starts with known stakes that are higher so it manages to have a more intense baseline
I'm grateful that they were given the opportunity to wrap up the show properly
Very much enjoyed this rewatch
It didn't leave me in a crying mess the way #Alias and #Lost did, although it does have a few emotional moments, and the ending is the perfect book-end to the origin of the series' universe (which I don't think is actually unveiled until season 2 or 3)
Anna Torv plays another FBI agent in #Mindhunter (TV series on #Netflix) which I highly-recommend
Joshua Jackson is probably better known for his role on #DawsonsCreek , which I rewatched early last year ( https://aus.social/@jokeyrhyme/107908825197470560 ) and which unfortunately makes it hard for others to enjoy Fringe
Jasika Nicole voices the excellent #AliceIsntDead fiction podcast which has a similar vibe to Fringe but with more horror and conspiracy
John Noble is thoroughly captivating in various shades of a broken man both in Fringe and in his role in #TheLordOfTheRings movies, which I haven't rewatched in probably more than a decade and now I'm getting that itch...
Just finished my first and probably only re-watch of all 6 seasons of #DawsonScreek , although I feel like I must have missed the series finale back when it first aired back in ... AAAAAAAA ... it first aired back in 2003! Besides making me feel old, it's also weird to compare my current self and today's pop-culture to a late-90s impression of youth back then: were kids really so obsessed with virginity, and so sure that the only path to success was via college? I hope modern kids have a broader perspective I'm glad that shows have age-appropriate actors these days, instead of 20-30 somethings messing with the beauty standards/expectations of teenage audiences It's hard to know whether it was Kerr Smith being squeamish or if it was the writers/producers, but I'm pretty sure there are only 5-6 same-sex kisses in the whole show, which is very different to today's #Netflix / HBO where we actually have LGTBQIA+ folk playing these roles without any reservations, and today's writers' rooms aren't 100% pale+male+stale anymore I wasn't moved much at all during the first 3 seasons, but there's some loss, forgiveness, and hope in the latter seasons that brought me to tears, and the series finale had me sobbing throughout There are much better shows these days (Young Royals, Elite, etc), so it's hard to recommend Dawson's Creek, but I don't regret reliving fond memories nor the self-reflection
Just finished listening to #AliceIsntDead. Great show. Good, uh, praxis, which is kinda funny if you listen to the whole show.
Keisha said #FuckTheThistleMan.
"If people could do this, we could undo it."
