This particular set of illustrations were particularly funny draw. I wanted Robert and play around with light, so I decided to draw main from “serial experiment lain”, trying to really capture the spirit of that show. Next to it, I just wanted to piss around with expressions on a jackal character.

I usually don't post commission / WIP as I am shy as it gets on posting work -- I struggle even more with traditional as it has a tendency to do not well in the digital world but today I decided otherwise

I couldn’t focus on the usual and just kept focusing on method instead of proportion.
Which color combos. Making shapes. Layering.
It came out worse; I’m better when I focus on the rendering and ignore the inputs and hope for a good outcome.
Or maybe another off day.
It’s nice to look at the backs of some drawings that didn’t come out as I liked - the ink bleeding though the page has a nice soft color and shows the figure and focus.
