Today a dear friend and I went to Repton in the Trent Valley, and visited St Wystans Church.
Repton dates from the Anglo-Saxons. St Wystans church has a fine crypt with Anglo-Saxon stonework.

After a busy and draining run of shifts, I took some time to visit Dudley Zoo and Castle with a dear friend.
I think I was very lucky with the shot of the Meerkat in front of the castle.
I got out to Uffmoor Wood today to give my new walking staff a test.
Uffmoor used to be known as Offmoor, or "Offa's Moor" after King Offa of Mercia who reigned from 757 - 796. The site has likely been wooded since the last ice age.
