This wreckage is what remains of a Curtiss C-46 “Commando” twin-prop cargo aircraft that crashed shortly after takeoff on November 13th, 1979. Three crew members were injured in the crash, all survived. Perched atop a rocky ridge dotted with white spruce trees, the fuselage has become a canvas for one of many striking murals around the town of Churchill.
