Has anyone noticed that in the last 6-8 weeks the AI Slop has now started to dominate Instagram too?

Just for fun this morning I watched someone build an underground den in buried shipping containers. Not only did the size of the containers increase every time he brought new furniture in; but he was able to get an absolutely huge TV in through a tiny little hatch.

The resin floors are hilarious. I'm guessing these guys never actually paid for any resin when they pour around £80,000 of the stuff onto some cotton wool to make "clouds" nor do they realise resin is quite dense and would squash most things they pour it onto flat

The worrying thing though was the comments - about half recognised it was AI, but the remainders described it as beautiful and amazing.

In rehearsal today. I often video my performances and use a lavalier mic for improvements.

I left the camera running whilst we had a discussion about template emails for gig contracts when the guitarist said "use AI"

Yes, I'm wearing latex jeans. As I commented earlier it's not very often I get to wear them for a long time so I often make the most of it when I can. As I said "those lazy hazy crazy days of rubber"

So while setting up the Ubuntu system I used the supplied Firefox without any adblockers and with google as the search engine. I ran about 15 searches for quite specific things like dpkg commands and the like.

Every query got the Gemini "ai" answer at the top. And every one of these was wrong. Every. Single. One.

Incorrect package names. Wrong command options. Stuff that didn't apply to 25.04 or even Ubuntu generally.

How clueless does one have to be to hype this BS?
