trying to find a #good #fediverse space to host a #poland#rainbow group (in english only) instead of telegram. i see mastodon with #hashtags might work, or perhaps #lemmy or #friendica ( probably not #scuttlebutt, which makes me sad, nor #tiktok or #pixelfed )... but now i wonder which one will be better and #whatelse could i find!

any ideas?!

a few main issues with pixelfed (have i posted about this already?):

+ can't post without image

+ limited profile details (i want to know posts i liked, favorited, and repost, for instance, can't find them!)

+ like with most of fediverse, activitypub, and even related protocols such as hubzila: lack of real backup. emails, for instance, make it easy to set up backups with pop, and pop only. file system, on the other hand, make it possible, but difficult to do without own hardware. do not get me started on tilde! i know a lot more than just nix basics, and even so, they suck!

just look at #sourcehut history. (also source of my inspiration for this post today, and one place i used for backup)

i have backup of my own data since the 90's. some survived a lot of real case and time. most died to lack of features. even some files i had saved, died after being copied too much! did you know it happens to compressed files? such as zip, mp3 (mostly), and jpeg.

i mean, even archive.is got created after many backup issues from archive.org! i much prefer #fupl from the org, but perhaps the proprietary one will do a better job over time, if only because of obscurity.

the internet got created to become a backup of data above all, and too little people seem to remember the importance of this!

for the longest time, i knew i could build a lottery app that could predict lottery numbers. and in 2005 i promised a friend i world eventually do it.

i now know in my bones that i will never make it. because it would always become an insane bloody rat race, if it ever gets done.

rather focus on my #ikigai: harmonizing the world. i started it with much focus on information and data processing. now i started to move into materialisation and especially #egodestruction (or something).

still calling this project #ahoxus, much more than computers and ecovila, and also much less! πŸ₯°
taking science long enough to recognise randomness as huge life factor! #ahoxus #chaos

not sure i should promote pay walled links... newscientist.com/article/mg25534050-900-nature-nurture-luck-why-you-are-more-than-just-genes-and-upbringing/?utm_source=nsday&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=nsday_220922&utm_term=Newsletter%20NSDAY_Daily

but if you want to know more about my view on this, go to ahoxus.org/cregox/net/random last updated over 2 years ago!
Nature, nurture, luck: Why you are more than just genes and upbringing

Your genes and environment play a big part in forming you, but there is an unexplored third element at play too: luck. The chance events that shape your brain in the womb may influence who you become as much as your genetics, and perhaps even more than the effect of parenting

i've worked on booking.com = one of the best jobs i ever had.

i would never want to work on airbnb. just search the web and you will see why.

the world can certainly use more humanity and, believe it or not, airbnb (and everything it represents) completely missed the point.

pleroma #ahoxus went down for 5 days! back up now.
@War_Kittens man go, yes, of fucking course. because men are disposable.

and i mean every word of it.

i, however, would only go if my own god of choice at the time would have said yes.

(and again with every word, i now also mean i just decided today to literally develop an easier way to communicate with my favourite god... #ahoxus).

telling everyone i know, to me, gives me every safety i need, anyway. plus more ways to confirm the present moment.

look, every day i get in my car, i trust hundreds of people i don't know for even a single day, and more than that, the process of the system. one of the many gods around.

but i also take care of every moment while inside the car.

the only difference with the private jet to the ocean: getting out of it safely and surviving afterwards by having to wait or walk from a much more distant point in the globe, will be much more challenging.

but i honestly never went through either and my chances of survival in both situations would probably rely on finding help much sooner than later. #harmonicchaos

so i just really need to connect with myself, as i already implied, and ask "will i ever regret saying no?". when in doubt, it means yes.
never give up on something you really want. it will be difficult to wait or easy to regret. #ahoxus

about #buddha and #ahoxus, i personally never read almost anything from any religion, including the #bible, nor any #philosophy... but all those lines of thoughts that exist for so long, they circle inside everyone's minds in one way or another. and i adore to explore them all!

when i try to focus for longer time in any specific teachings, however, i always space out and can't really follow through. i guess i just have a "way too #random access memory" (did you know what RAM stands for, in computers?) in my head, which probably have a #psychology term to describe it as a disorder after a certain spectrum, and to which i probably don't go out of the normal (i do have a self diagnose for #aphantasia).

how much do you guys like to connect apparently #disconnected ideas like this?! πŸ₯°
@sujee i will look at soapbox, thanks. also heard of a new one (perhaps the same one) that i can't remember the name, just a few weeks ago, developed with the intention of refactoring pleroma but focusing on an objective similar to minimalism i think. completely forgot to follow through, i have to go over my bookmarks... better to leave this to another thread: #soapbox 🀣

you can see everything #ahoxus as *like* a hobby of mine and *like* my entrepreneurship, and job, and lots of things in between and around both. #aloze first stage there i have been applying to ahoxus home and my free time, when i get enough aligned with full energy (which doesn't happen very often), will go all to rebuilding all the website with that (which could use a name in itself, perhaps #freehtml?)

absolutely zero rush, as i managed to get all my digital work as non essential to life, luckily, thanks to #ahoxus... and i definitely want every hand i can get to help with such things. currently got the amazing @kcubeterm who do such work on the backend here and on #achoz, for instance. freehtml requires no knowledge of software building, programming language, or command lines... it only requires time, patience, and ability to explore, all of which i know you already do because you told me about soapbox.

as for #buddha and ahoxus, i love your connections all around there! πŸ₯° will look at the video as well. i personally never read almost anything from any religion, including the #bible, nor any #philosophy... but all those ones of thoughts that exist for so long, they circle everyone's minds in one way or another. and i adore to explore them all.

more comments to come soon, under the hashtags, to break up this thread in better smaller pieces... πŸ˜˜πŸ™
