Ron Franke@tomcapuder I forget who wrote it, something like, “it’s statistically unlikely that there is a god”. I, similarly, choose to believe that there is no god. Since we can’t know, to me it’s a choice.
My problem with the term atheism, and the reason that I don’t consider myself an atheist, is that rather than the base “without god” it’s been conflated to “there is no god”, a belief. And to me the belief that "there is no god" is the same trap as “god exists”. I’m not a fan of the term agnostic either.
I general, I don’t care if someone chooses to believe that god exists. Mostly, nice, whatever, keep it to yourself. Where I do care and will fight is when those “believers” think that they can impose their perverse religious views on society, laws, governmental policies, and on me.

Tawtovo (ܬܘܬܒܐ)I'm not a hard #agnostic arguing that metaphysical truth is absolutely unknowable, but I know enough about #WorldReligions and philosophy to know that the arguments I've encountered for metaphysical claims are all bunk, which makes me deeply uninterested in metaphysics. But we could work together to make the world a better place! I'm not interested in Christian modernism which eschews claims about evil and seeks merely to comfort the comfortable. I want to be challenged to be a better person!

I'm not #religious because #religion is just something that was made up by MEN to control & exert power over people into behaving the way that they want people to behave in subordination to them.
If you believe in the tenets of any religion, you do NOT have to abide by the rules of an organized religion to live by them.
I believe in the #TenCommandments & the #GoldenRule not because I believe in #Christianity but because they just make sense. 🤷♂️
There are other religious tenets that make no sense to me at all & I pay absolutely NO attention to them.
