And, as Mike points out, #agileCoachCamp events happen all over the world, at various times, as you'll see at: https://agilecoachcamp.org/tiki-index.php?page=HomePage

I see that Agile Coach Camp Canada has rebranded this year to Knowledge Practitioners’ Camp. This event has always been open to more people than just agile coaches, despite what the name said, and the new name will make that fact more explicit. The excellent Agile Open Canada in the west, did a similar rename years ago, for the same reason. I’ve attended dozens of these “coach camps” all over North America and can’t speak highly enough of them. I will say that I go to these events to learn, and to regular conferences to promote myself. What makes these so different? Ultimately it’s the open space format. Beyond the overall theme for the event, we won’t know what topics will be discussed until the day of the event. It’s in the first hour that we decide on the topics and speakers and discover what will be happening. While this may sound chaotic, it ensures that every topic is something that one of the attendees is passionate about. You may think “isn’t it true that all conference talks are something the speaker is passionate about?”, and strangely it isn’t. There is often such a long gap (months at least) from the time the topic was first proposed to the time that it will be presented that sometimes, the speaker has lost some of their enthusiasm for it. Couple that with the fact that it’s so much effort to prepare one of these, that they tend to get repeated over and over again. In an open space, even if the session has been run before, it’s still exciting enough for the speaker that they still want to talk about it today! It does mean that the sessions aren’t always as polished or as well thought out and that’s ok. If you’re in or near Toronto then check out this years Knowledge Practitioners’ Camp. If you’re somewhere else then check out equivalent open space events in your area. They can be found around the world. https://agilecoachcamp.ca
