A Giant Dog plays an explosive style of indie rock that mixes the propulsive punch of garage with glam style hooks and create tuneful songs that pack quite a bit of rowdy energy.
A Giant Dog | the PROPAGANDA site
A Giant Dog is an Austin-based garage rock outfit that plays consistently up-tempo songs that are rich with hooks and driven by propulsive beats. Their style draws from glam as much as it does from rock and grunge, though in more recent years they have become more rock-centered. Vocalist Sabrina Ellis is highly energetic and expressive. She provides quite a bit of the band's punch, especially adding her stage presence to the band's already exciting and explosive live shows. The rhythm section is solid, and the guitars are as loud as one would expect. Their songs tend to be catchy and they often have a strong melodic core that one suspects they would work just as effectively if the band decided to play them as acoustic ballads.
