How should we tag the stories?

We are creating an online African Speculative Fiction toolkit, which is intended to help create equitable and socially responsible policy making for STEM projects. All the stories and articles will be tagged by themes and topics to make them easier to find. In this survey you will be asked to: Give us your feedback on some of the proposed tags which will be used to organise stories Tell us how you would try to filter through the various short stories, essays and other content within the toolkit Share your thoughts on how this toolkit could be useful for your work. I first encountered Sun Ra’s #jazz when I was working at Sound Warehouse in college. His album covers looked amazing. I think he may have been my introduction to #afrofuturist #music. youtu.be/RpZOcDPjV20?...

"Black Panther is a #solarpunk, #afrofuturist superhero film that helps spark discussions about three aspects of climate literacy: access to #NaturalResources, especially #RareEarthMetals like the fictional vibranium; the interconnectedness of #RacialJustice and #ClimateJustice, including one’s responsibilities to other people and nations across the globe; and the role of #GreenTechnology, including urban design, to create a #sustainable, just, and #ecological civilization."

Black Panther - Climate Lit

Black Panther is a solarpunk, afrofuturist superhero film that helps spark discussions about three aspects of climate literacy: access to natural resources...; the interconnectedness of racial justice and climate justice...; and the role of green technology...

Climate Lit

I finished reading "Afterglow: Climate Fiction for Future Ancestors", an anthology of environmentally-minded short stories about living in the far future, with #solarpunk and #afrofuturist vibes (it also calls itself "hopepunk", whatever that means, I guess "hopeful"?).

Aside from science fiction, some stories used magical realism or went surreal.

Grist, an environmentalist non-profit, publishes a book like it every year. You can it here, for free:
