Prima hanno appiccato il fuoco all’interno del minivan e poi hanno bloccato le portiere per impedire alle vittime di scappare. Così sono stati bruciati vivi i quattro pakistani trovati carbonizzati lunedì ad Amendolara, in provincia di Cosenza, sotto la tettoia della stazione di servizio lungo la statale 106. I morti sono tutti pakistani, braccianti agricoli impiegati nei campi della Sibaritide e diretti verso la Piana del Metapontino, nel Materano.
In poche ore la Procura di Castrovillari e la polizia ha riscontrato i primi sospetti che la tragedia potesse essere collegata a un regolamento di conti negli ambienti degli extracomunitari. La svolta è arrivata grazie un video in cui si vedono due uomini, anche loro pakistani, che poco prima del rogo erano a bordo del mezzo. Stando al filmato registrato dalle telecamere di videosorveglianza, quindi, vittime e assassini si conoscevano e viaggiavano assieme.
Almeno fino a quando, parcheggiata l’auto a pochi metri dalla pompa di benzina, due di loro sono usciti mentre le fiamme invadevano l’interno del minivan. Piuttosto che aiutare gli altri a mettersi in salvo i due pakistani hanno bloccato le portiere impedendo la fuga degli altri connazionali che, a causa delle fiamme, si dimenavano. Circostanza questa che emerge chiaramente dal movimento del mezzo quando i due presunti assassini erano ancora sulla scena dell’omicidio plurimo. Delitto che, per le modalità atroci, è stato senza dubbio premeditato dai pakistani raggiunti durante la notte da un provvedimento di fermo al termine di un lungo interrogatorio a cui sono stati sottoposti in questura a Cosenza.

This circumstance emerges clearly from the movement of the vehicle when the two suspected assassins were still on the scene of the multiple murder. The crime, due to its atrocious methods, was undoubtedly premeditated by the Pakistanis, who were apprehended during the night following a warrant issued at the end of a long interrogation conducted at the police station in Cosenza.

The man stated that he suffered from a dermatitis in the genital area, a pathology that would cause him sudden and unbearable itching. The act performed inside the car was therefore intended to find relief from the discomfort caused by the illness. A thesis that the judge of first instance described as “contradictory and unbelievable,” adding in the order that the facts are incompatible with the explanation provided by the suspect.

Un colpo di pistola al petto. Così è stato ucciso poco nella notte un ragazzo di 23 anni a Monserrato, comune della Città metropolitana di Cagliari. Il giovane, di professione muratore, è stato freddato da un solo colpo mentre si trovava nel cortile di un palazzo in via Settimio Severo. Ferito, ha percorso qualche metro e poi è caduto a terra. Sul posto sono subito arrivati i carabinieri e un’ambulanza del 118: i medici hanno tentato a lungo di rianimare il ragazzo, residente a Villacidro, ma non c’è stato nulla da fare. I militari della compagnia di Quartu e i colleghi del Nucleo investigativo del Comando provinciale di Cagliari hanno avviato le indagini.
In queste ore si stanno sentendo i residente della zona, nella speranza che qualcuno possa aver visto qualcosa. Intorno all’area, infatti, ci sono numerose abitazioni. I giudici della sezione per i minorenni della Corte d’Appello di Palermo hanno assolto la giovane perché ritenuta temporaneamente incapace di intendere e di volere, e dunque non imputabile.
La ragazza, primogenita di Giovanni Barreca, era stata condannata in primo grado, con rito abbreviato, a 12 anni e 8 mesi di reclusione per il triplice omicidio della madre Antonella Salamone e dei fratelli Kevin ed Emanuel, uccisi nella villetta di famiglia.
Le perizie e la decisione dei giudici
Secondo quanto stabilito in Appello, Miriam non era in grado di autodeterminarsi nei giorni in cui si consumarono le violenze culminate nella strage. Determinanti sono state le due perizie psichiatriche disposte durante il procedimento, che hanno evidenziato l’incapacità della giovane di comprendere quanto stesse accadendo.
Una valutazione diversa rispetto a quella del primo grado, dove gli stessi elementi non erano stati ritenuti sufficienti per escludere la responsabilità penale.
Miriam era stata trovata dai carabinieri nel suo letto, a pochi metri dai corpi dei fratelli. In un primo momento si pensava fosse l’unica sopravvissuta, ma successivamente fu lei stessa ad ammettere di aver preso parte alle torture e agli omicidi.
La Corte d’Appello ha invece ritenuto che, in quelle circostanze, la ragazza non fosse capace di intendere e di volere, disponendo così l’assoluzione per non imputabilità.
