Думаю, главную космическую новость вы уже обсудили, хоть и в другом свете, я Трампа пока-что отложу в сторону и перейду к другим новостям:
— 29 октября немецкий стартап Polaris Spaceplanes провёл первое зажигание клиновоздушного двигателя (aerospike) в непосредственно полёте. Это первое такое зажигание в истории (хотя космические корабли, использующие эффект аэроспайка, уже и поднмили в воздух — те-же Stoke Aerospace (https://spacenews.com/stoke-space-flies-reusable-upper-stage-prototype), это всегда происходило на стартовых площадках).
Клиновоздушные двигатели были изобретены давно и обещали одинаково высокую эффективность на всех высотах, в отличие от традиционных двигателей-колоколов, заточенных на конкретную высоту, но тогда от них отказались из за чрезмерной сложности конструкции и проблем с охлаждением. Нынче же сразу несколько компаний занимаются возрождением клиновоздушных двигателей и они обещают стать двигателями будущего:
