We were somewhere north of Lisbon, climbing north towards Ireland, when the sun decided to put on a show off the right-hand side of the aircraft. I went on a #randomlibrarywalk the other day and found this book on #aerialphotography I was struck by the before/after images of the bombs. Especially how small the bomb looks before it lands, and how much damage you know it can do. The other photo here is a network of tracks to the "Tree of Life". (2/2)

Mount Hood two weeks ago as seen from my parents' Chicago ORD to Portland, Oregon, flight.

Their return flight from Denver to Peoria, Illinois, included a detour around a stormfront over Kansas and Oklahoma that eventually opened up on us in downstate Illinois and St. Louis before sunrise Thursday.
