Window seats earn their keep on flights like this one. We were somewhere north of Lisbon, climbing north towards Ireland, when the sun decided to put on a show off the right-hand side of the aircraft. Mount Hood two weeks ago as seen from my parents' Chicago ORD to Portland, Oregon, flight.
Their return flight from Denver to Peoria, Illinois, included a detour around a stormfront over Kansas and Oklahoma that eventually opened up on us in downstate Illinois and St. Louis before sunrise Thursday.
