Finished Garth Nix's The Left-Handed Booksellers of London and it made me very happy. He definitely drew on elements of Susan Cooper (The Dark is Rising series, one of my favorites!).

Start Shroud today (Adrian Tchaikovsky). Still just on chapter 1.2 and really loving it so far!

Reading Shroud by Adrian Tchaikovsky and absolutely loving the way he describes intelligence and how it might appear in an alien entity, the way humans interpret behaviour based on their own experiences and how the aliens interpret ours in return. It's so clever I've laughed out loud multiple times with delight.

And I'm only about a quarter of the way through.

Popped to a nearby town for the first time in years and managed to spend some gift cards we've collected from birthdays as a result of some relatives who insist on giving them. Always nice to come home with new books.

I like Adrian Tchaikovsky so that was an easy purchase. To Sleep In A Sea Of Stars sounded like my sort of book and it was deliciously thick. The Great When sounded fabulous too.
