Temp was cool enough this morning to enjoy dog cuddles with my reading time before work. I'm slowly making my way through The Old Drift by Namwali Serpell, an epic saga set in Zambia from early 20th century into the future. Really enjoying it, but it's a hefty book with hefty themes.
Rewarded myself for a couple of hours of gardening with a good book and dog cuddles for the rest of the afternoon. I feel like Felicity Cloake would approve

Doggo patiently accompanied us to all five breweries on the East Bristol Brewery Trail yesterday, which was great for us but Beckett is less of a fan of loud music, crowds of people and beer. So today I made sure she got some off lead time in the park and plenty of peace and quiet. She's a good dog
I like to eat lunch in my library (other people might call it a dining room; they would be wrong). Every day, the second I push my empty plate to the side, Beckett leaps into my lap for a cuddle before I go back to work. So I have no choice but to sit and read a little longer in my favourite room
