Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge: Books I Would or Wouldn’t Reread and Why
Hi everyone! I hope you’re all well. Today is Wednesday, and it’s time for another post in the Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge hosted by Long and Short Reviews. If you’d like to participate in the challenge, you can find the list of topics for 2025 here. If you’re interested in reading other people’s responses to this week’s topic, you can do so here.
Books I Would or Wouldn’t Reread and Why
There are several books that I reread semi-regularly.
‘A Christmas Carol‘. ‘How The Grinch Stole Christmas‘. ‘Skipping Christmas‘. I read these to help get me into the festive mood during the holidays.
‘Practical Magic’
This is one of my favourite books. I love all four books in the series, but the first is my favourite. It has everything you could want in a book: magic, family drama, a bit of romance, and there’s a bit of creepiness in the form of a dead man who seems intent on continuing his abuse of his ex, Gillian (one of the main characters).
My book of ‘Grimm Brother’s Fairy Tales‘
I never tire of fairy tales, and the Grimm versions are some of the best.
My book of ‘Hans Christian Andersen’s Fairy Tales‘.
I love The Little Mermaid, The Princess and the Pea and The Snow Queen. Andersen has a lovely way of telling stories.
I wouldn’t reread ‘A Dog’s Purpose‘ again — it was an outstanding book, but once was enough. I can’t take the emotional overload.
The novelisation of ‘Grease’. It was simply atrocious. Told from Sonny’s point of view, the story is all over the place, and some of it doesn’t make sense.
I wouldn’t read ‘Orbital’ again. I really tried to ‘get’ that book, but the whole thing was lost on me. I don’t think I was the intended audience because those people who believe they were loved it.
Well, that’s post 40! Jeez, the year is whizzing by!
As ever, thanks for stopping by. It means the world!
Until next time,
George
