This piece was from the Judy Woods Starts workshop.
The course showed us how to build up layers using collage, thin paint, line, stencils, thicker paint and more stencils.
It was an interesting process but I got rather tired doing it. We had to do 3 at once and whilst I understand the logic of it I found the mental toll of constant choices, decisions, and focus too much.
There's only one I liked.

I signed up for a number of art challenges in January, more than I can reasonably cope with tbh. Most of it’s not a problem. I’ve completed one and I’m catching up with another. No pressure.
But I signed up to make an art postcard for someone in a fb group and they reciprocate. I’m paralysed with fear.

The amount of choices I’ve skipped through!
I thought just freaking do something and I do but it’s all a pile of crap.

My first instinct was to do a rabbit as it’ll be the Year of the Rabbit soon but, try as I might I can’t draw one😆 Even if I copy!
Anyway my stomach is in knots. I’m trying a few #abstract landscapes- because no one can judge that right? 🤔😆

I’ll get there because I’m tenacious.

The challenge was to spend no longer than 30 minutes using only unconventional art tools.
I used the items shown plus my fingers. The paper is flip chart paper.
It took about 20 minutes.
I stopped because I was tired and couldn't focus any more.
It feels like an old style, far Eastern landscape made modern to me.

I struggled with this and the top was too wet to work on so I had a nice nap and crayoned over it when I woke up.

I've been trying my hand at this style of art for nearly a year. It's not easy as many think. So I haven't developed a real voice yet. In fact I only started any making any art at all last year so it's really early days.

Currently I'm doing a 5 day FB challenge called #BoldlyAbstractArt
The first day was to focus on black and white, and the second day was to focus on line. Both had to be done within a short time limit which I ignored, mainly because of the implied pressure I would never have done it.
