Genesis 1 Creation by Aboriginal Artist Carolyn Windy

On May 14 the Bible Society Australia uploaded this short video on its website. It is by aboriginal artist Carolyn Windy and captures the elements of God Genesis creation as well as the good news message (very briefly). In my opinion it is a wonderful and concise description of the work of the Creator, followed by His plan to save mankind.

As an Australian follower of Jesus Christ, and a biblical creationist, I found this fascinating not only in regard to the message but also in regard to the indigenous art itself.

As an exercise I have toyed with creating that type of art and using AI have experimented with the following.

An intricate Indigenous artwork depicting the story of creation with symbolic elements of nature and the spirit of the Creator God. See Genesis chapter 1.

The following are some I have already painted Australian themes and colours. But I soon hope to try some paintings of creation with a reference to, but not a copy of, indigenous art.

"The Kulata Tjuta (Many Spears) Project is a series of major installation-based works rooted in age-old traditions, knowledge and skills that are designed around keeping Country and culture strong. It is an ongoing cultural maintenance project that shares the skills of spear making across generations. Under the direction of male Elders including Frank Young, young men are taught the skills of carving and kulata (spear) production as a means of cultural maintenance. It has since grown to include over 200 Aṉangu men from three generations across the APY Lands in South Australia."

Who is Emily Kam Kngwarray?

This prolific Aboriginal artist began making art in her 60s—and produced nearly 3,000 works before her death. Kngwarray was deeply connected to her community and their land. She took the name of the pencil yam, a crucial crop for the Anmatyerre people.

As well as being a Reiki Master my wife, (an Australian Aboriginal) are both artists, (so is our daughter). Anyway I'm sharing a road mural we did a little while ago for the Melbourne suburb, Point Cook.

We recently watched the doco Emily: I Am Kam, from NITV. It's an amazing in-depth look at the life of one of Australia's greatest artists, Emily Kam Kngwarray.

Lovely to get such great coverage of her life, with her family and friends from over the years. Having seen the doco about the exhibition of her work in Japan, it was great to get more of her story.

Streaming now on SBS On Demand, however that's at 720p resolution and may be a little blurry on the beautiful artworks. We recorded off NITV ages ago, only just watched it last week. Would recommend watching out for it on NITV to get it in 1080p, as it'll no doubt come around again.
