In the last weeks/months, I've been using #PikaOS linux distro (both #kde and #cosmic)

Mostly because it has #nvidia drivers pre-installed. But I experienced a few issues and bugs

I think I'm done trying unknown distros

I recently learned that #ZorinOS can also come with nvidia so I think I'll try it

Zorin is well known and developed in #ireland

I wish I could find a good distro with Nvidia made in #canada

But, at least it's not coming from the USA. That's why I don't use Pop_OS anymore

I want to hear from people using Zorin OS.
I've been considering trying it. I've had good and bad opinions.
I'm currently using lmde6.
What do you think? Is it worth the $50 price?

Ich habe mir letztes Jahr, als ich von Windows 11 umgestiegen bin, selbst verschiedene Distris angesehen, ohne vorher im Netz zu gucken, welche wohl für mich die beste ist.
Von Ubuntu war ich noch nie begeistert. Mint bspw. finde ich für meine Belange absolut überdimensioniert. Unter cachyOS ist meine Notizbuch-App, von der ich eine Lifetime-Version besitze, nicht gelaufen.

Schlussendlich bin ich für meinen Tower bei ZorinOS gelandet und für den Lappi bei PopOS. Beide Distris bieten mir auf den beiden Geräten das, was ich für diese haben will.

In Macos. This Macbook Air 2015 is giving warning on the battery.Which runs out prety quick when not plugged. Here I see it showing 2 hours remaining. Never seen before🤩. #ZorinOS

@anon_4601 Welcome to the club. I left Windows 10 a year ago as it was obvious my nine year old computer was showing its age. Dropped #ZorinOS 17.3 on to it and discovered I had brand new computer. It hadn't aged much at all. The virus that is #Windows had mislead me. My computer was fine, it had the sickness that is #Capitalism and #PlannedObsolence - #Microsoft had decided it was time to extract more profit from me, and so I was lead to think my computer was old and needed to be replaced. It was a lie.

I hope more people realize their old, slow computers aren't at end of life, and that they instead explore the world of Linux distros, likely adding many more years to the hardware they have.

And if someone reads this and doesn't know where to start, ask around. Someone in your circle is very likely going to be enthusiastically happy to help you. It is the way.

Jeg er begyndt og kede mig så nu roder jeg med linuxdistributioner. indtil videre har jeg installeret gnome på min KDE opensuselaptop, så nu har den både KDE og Gnome. og jeg har installeret Zorin OS på en gammel laptop. Jeg har indtil videre lidt svært ved at se hvad the big deal er ved Zorin OS

Je laisse tomber ZorinOS, ils ont une gestion complètement m**ique de l'économie d'écran, ça se met à fond ou à 0 d'un seul coup sans raison apparente.

Je repasse à Linux Mint sur mes deux PCs. Je suis en train de mettre les mises à jour automatiques, il faut que ça marche, notamment quand je vais l'installer sur le PC de mon frère qui n'y connaît rien.

Il faut que ça fasse toutes les mises à jour sans demander, comme c'était le cas sur W$, sauf que là, ça ne fera pas ramer le système.
