On #ThisDayInHistory in 1943, LA's anti-Latino #racism exploded in the #ZootSuitRiots -- in essence a pogrom directed at Hispanic & black citizens. White servicemen hunted down folks in Zoot suits for five days, beating & stripping them in the streets while hurling racial slurs.

On #ThisDayInHistory another #racist #pogrom took place in #LosAngeles in 1943. US servicemen attacked local #Hispanic residents, stripped off their clothes, and beat them in what are now called the #ZootSuitRiots. The attacks continued for six days with hundreds injured.
