Ein heftiger #Zyklon ist an der australischen Westküste früher als erwartet auf Land getroffen: #Zelia wütete seit Mittag (Ortszeit) mit Windgeschwindigkeiten von bis zu 195 und Böen von rund 290 km/h in der Region #Pilbara und speziell um die Städte PortHedland und #Karratha. Zudem warnten die Behörden wegen #Starkregen's im Zuge des Tropensturms vor #Sturzfluten und #Überschwemmungen. Port Hedland blieb zunächst – anders als erwartet – vom Zentrum des Zyklons verschont.
