🇺🇸: The zebra spider (Salticus scenicus) is a species of spider belonging to the jumping spider family (Salticidae). They reach body lengths of four to seven millimeters, with females generally larger than males. When hunting, the zebra spider slowly approaches an insect and leaps onto its prey from a distance of up to five centimeters, killing it with a venomous bite. This species is very common in Europe, northern Asia, and North America. It is often found near humans on masonry or fences.

🇩🇪: Die Mauer-Zebraspringspinne (Salticus scenicus) ist eine Spinnenart, die zur Familie der Springspinnen (Salticidae) gehört. Sie erreichen Körperlängen von vier bis sieben Millimeter, wobei die Weibchen in der Regel größer werden als die Männchen. Bei der Jagd nähert sich die Mauer-Zebraspringspinne langsam an ein Insekt an und springt aus einem Abstand von bis zu fünf Zentimetern auf das Beutetier und tötet dieses mit einem Giftbiss. In Europa, dem nördlichen Asien und Nordamerika kommt diese Art sehr häufig vor. In der Nähe des Menschen ist die Art oft auf Mauerwerk oder Zäunen anzutreffen.
