OK, so apparently there’s a Miyazawa Kenji museum (#NightOnTheGalacticRailroad) in Iwate… https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenji_Miyazawa
With a climb of 367 steps to get to it…
Hatsumode, or the first shrine visit of the year, does also seem to be important, although that’s a little more obvious to me. :)
One thing that seems to come up in anime, at least the cute/fluffy sort that I lean to, is that staying up on New Year’s Eve for the year to turn isn’t so important - what seems to matter is getting up to see the first sunrise of the year.
Interesting, I kind of wonder why that is.
#ZatsuTabi (which just did that very thing) :)
HUH. That’s an interesting touch about the #ZatsuTabi OP (this toot is effectively the #altText for the image): when it introduces each character it displays their name in both Japanese and English…and the english text is presented as persional name then family name. So in this example of a young brunette with long twintails and glasses we see “Yui Unoki” on the still frame.
But it’s fairly clear that the Japanese text underneath that is in the traditional order …
There was actually a fair bit in that episode about the creative process, with Fuyune (who as mentioned earlier is a bit of a troll, but in a good way) mentioning that, right now, Chika-chan AS A PERSON was more interesting than her manga, and providing some gentle, if oblique, guidance on how to bring that life TO her manga.
Yes, #ZatsuTabi is a #CGDCT (#IYKYK) show, but there is some actual character work with substance there. Sometimes. Occasionally. :)
Yui-chan is a good girl. #ZatsuTabi
Fuyune is a troll, but in a good way. :)
