Lo ha dichiarato all'agenzia Fars un membro dell'organismo, l'Ayatollah Mohammad-Mahdi Mirbagheri. In un video pubblicato dall'agenzia di stampa Fars su Telegram, Mirbagheri ha affermato che sono stati compiuti "grandi sforzi per determinare la guida" e che è stato concordato "un parere decisivo e unanime". In un'altra intervista con l'agenzia di stampa Fars, Hojjatoleslam Jafari, rappresentante di Zanjan nell'Assemblea degli Esperti, ha dichiarato di sperare che "tutto il popolo iraniano sia soddisfatto il prima possibile". Le forze armate di Israele "perseguiranno qualsiasi successore" dell'ayatollah Khamenei e "chiunque intenda morire allo stesso modo". Lo si legge sul profilo X in persiano delle Israel Defense Forces. "Dopo la neutralizzazione del tiranno Khamenei, il regime del terrore iraniano sta cercando di riabilitarsi e scegliere un nuovo leader. L'Assemblea degli Esperti si riunirà presto a Qom", si legge nel messaggio. Una divergenza rispetto a quanto dichiarato dagli iraniani.

The Iranian Council of Experts has reached an agreement on the personality to be elected as the new Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic following the assassination of Ali Khamenei. A member of the body, Ayatollah Mohammad-Mahdi Mirbagheri, told the Fars agency. In a video published by the Fars news agency on Telegram, Mirbagheri said “great efforts have been made to determine the leadership” and that a “decisive and unanimous opinion” had been reached. In another interview with the Fars news agency, Hojjatoleslam Jafari, representative of Zanjan in the Council of Experts, said he hoped “the whole Iranian people will be satisfied as soon as possible.” “The delay in the election of the third leader is bitter and undesirable for everyone, and there is no alternative, so we should not have bad thoughts about our representatives at this difficult time,” the cleric said in the video.
According to the Iranian Constitution, the Council of Experts, which currently has 88 members, has the task of choosing a new Supreme Leader after almost 37 years in office of Khamenei, who was killed in an attack by Israel and the US on Tehran on February 28, the first day of the new war in the Middle East.
